The class is not extremely hard, some material is easier and some is harder to understand, but not impossible. However, the way that the professor lectures is confusing: she often confuses herself as well, and I have to re-watch the lectures after class all over again to understand it better. The slides are also very poorly formatted and structured, and hard to follow, there aren't coherent bullet points or terms so it's hard to follow. The tests are fair, but I found the requirement of posting 2 questions per class was not effective.

Sussan is an absolute sweetheart. She made her lessons incredibly engaging and fun even over zoom. She was totally understanding of how students' first priority might not be school given the times we are in and because of this she dropped our lowest quiz grade so we would not have to stress. She also was understanding about being flexible with when to offer quizzes and never made us take them on zoom with her watching or anything weird like that. She was an amazing professor and I feel like I learned so much that she is the reason I'm going to take more psych classes in the future!

This class was very disorganized. At the beginning of the semester, the prof laid out everything and it seemed organized, but she ended up always changing things, and the midterm was extremely hard. The multiple choice questions were not fair, and very specific. The class did very poorly as a whole and she had to give us extra credit questions to make up for our grade. Also, the assignments took a long time to be graded, and often times I felt lost in the class as it was disorganized.

Decent prof. Sounds exactly like Mrs. Puff. Wish she'd post the lecture slides before class so that you're not scrambling to write things down while listening to the lecture.

If you are going to take an intro to psych class make sure it's with Prof McCaskill. She really wants you to learn the basics and goes out of her way to understand students' different learning experiences and methods. And if the science part of the class scares you don't worry about it, she and the TAs will go out of their way to help.
